Big Box Play - Small Business Spotlight

Have you heard of BigBoxPlay? If you live in the Santa Clarita Valley and have a child under ten, chances are you have and you already love it! In case you've been living under a box (ha!) you probably know that BigBoxPlay got a glow up earlier this year when they moved from their inaugural Westfield Valencia Town Center location to their new location at the Santa Clarita Soccer Center, located at 25385 Rye Canyon Rd.

I'm excited to highlight BigBoxPlay this week on my Small Business Spotlight. Let's Get to it!

BigBoxPlay is on a Mission

"Our primary focus is to enrich children’s mind, body, and spirit with a particular emphasis on imagination and creativity."

At BigBoxPlay, you can find a closet full of dress ups, musical instruments that children are actually ENCOURAGED to pick up and play, open ended STEM toys like blocks and Magna-Tiles, arts and crafts, and so much more. All of these activities do not involve screens of any kind.

"We believe that children spend too much time on digital devices and this activity is rewiring their brains in unknown ways."

Don't forget the BigBoxPlay STEM Systems! These customizable cardboard playhouse are a staple in the BigBoxPlay environment. Play systems are available for use during the duration of your visit or you can purchase here through the BigBoxPlay website.

"BigBoxPlay STEM Systems are specially designed to facilitate the learning of essential life skills such as teamwork, creativity, communications, critical thinking, and tactile development."

STEM is a curriculum based in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, but this curriculum isn't limited to the classroom. According to the University of Los Vegas, "....young children learn through active exploration—and the drive to observe, interact, discover, and explore is inherent in their development... play-based curriculum has shown to be a particularly effective method for early learning."

That's where BigBoxPLay comes in. Imaginative, opened ended play provides endless learning and growing opportunities for your little ones, providing them with a stable, play-based, educational foundation.

Events and Classes

BigBoxPlay is dedicated to creating fun and educational classes for kids, ages 1-10 years old, including Parent & Me Pre-School Prep, piano, art, science and many more. BigBoxPlay is miraculously able to keep class costs low for you, Mommy!

Weekly events are also a highlight! We personally attended the Bubble Event last year and it remains one of the best memories of the year! Check their website and make sure to sign up for their newsletter to stay informed on upcoming events!

Birthday Parties

If you're interested in a birthday with BigBoxPlay, party packages are available! Packages start at $250 and are fully customizable to match your budget, meet your child's interests and provide a fun and memorable event for your child! Trust me, I recently attended a party at Big Box Play that your kid will love their party and love YOU for choosing them as your host.

In fact, my sweet, angelic daughter requested we throw her a party there-- even though her birthday had literally just passed a week prior.

  1. The pandemic has hit us hard, but there is no way we would let our kids practice for their dream. Kids love their soccer instructors, and their love for the game is imminent. For kids who are still confused about the kids soccer Pasadena, do visit them personally to learn the philosophies of the instructors and how they have been nailing it every time.
